Occupational Health

What is an Occupational Health check?

An occupational check evaluates an individual’s health and fitness to perform specific job roles. These assessments are essential for ensuring that employees meet the physical and mental demands of their positions, thereby promoting workplace safety and productivity. Occupational checks are particularly important for roles that involve significant physical activity, exposure to hazardous conditions, or critical responsibilities that could impact health and safety.

The level of clearance options are:

  • Non-NHS Clearance
  • NHS - Non-EPP (Non Exposure Prone Procedures)
  • NHS - EPP (Exposure Prone Procedures – this would be for workers who would have a gloved hand inside a body cavity as part of their job: Dentists, Surgeons, Midwives etc)

By identifying any health issues or potential risks, these checks help organisations make informed decisions about hiring and workplace accommodations. Implementing occupational health checks promotes a healthier and safer work environment, reduces the likelihood of work-related illnesses and injuries, and supports overall employee well-being and productivity.
